Convert File Formats

Here are some online methods for converting video, audio, image, document, and many other file types into another but similar file type. All are free to use.

Zamzar.com can convert files up to 100MB in size into almost any other kind of format. Please note, however, that audio files can only be converted to a different audio file format, images into different image file formats, and so on.

Next, here are five email addresses that you can use to convert files. Just create a new email message, attach a file, and send it. Your email program may require you to enter a subject line (i.e., Thunderbird). Then your send your email. Your converted files will be returned to the email address from which you sent your original email, as email attachments.

  1. iphone@pdfonline.com Converts any MS Visio or Word file to PDF (2007 and earlier). It also supports multiple file attachments. This service only supports files up to 1MB in size.
  2. Use pdf@koolwire.com to convert MS Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files to PDF, and only supports files up to 10MB in size.
  3. doc@koolwire.com Will convert PDFs to Word or Rich Text files.
  4. mp3@koolwire.com - Yep, this email address converts audio files! This email address allows you to convert WAV files to MP3s.
  5. wav@koolwire.com does just the opposite of item four in this list—it converts MP3s to WAV format.
