For Better Reading: Hide/Remove Parts of Web Pages

For you devoted FireFox users, there's a FireFox plugin that allows you to hide or even remove annoying parts of a web page. This plugin declutters and thus improves your reading experience.

The addin is called Remove it Permanently, and can be downloaded at http://rip.mozdev.org/. Installation instructions are provided at the website. Basically, you install it in Firefox, then close and restart Firefox. Once installed, you right-click on the section of any page that you want to remove or hide. There are two options in the popup menu: Remove This Permanently and RIP Advanced. There's also a feature to unhide or return previously removed or hidden items.

This plugin does not work well with Flash movies inserted into web pages. You have to right-click just next to the Flash movie to get the correct menu with RIP options.
